Hello Local Product

So the weather has been pretty amazing, rain at night when nobody has to know it even exists...cool and sunny during the day. All in all pretty fantastic, and PERFECT weather for gorgeous local product. Seriously...some of the most beautiful peonies ever, not to mention ones larger then my head (no, seriously...i'm not joking)

This is just the start to the local product which takes over the store in the summer...usually we offer at least 50 different types of blooms from all over the world, but in the summer I would say the shop is almost 70% local product, something we are VERY proud of. Support of the independent gardener is ultra cool...so check out the giant freak peonies, and keep in mind that everything in this super bright/happy/summery arrangement was grown right here in New Hampshire! YAY!

so...i have a pinched nerve in my lower back...it hurts so bad i want to puke. *insert barfing noise here*

i can sort of feel myself dry heaving every time i try and find a comfy position on the couch.
its horrible, and i'm afaid to lay down in my bed for fear of never getting back up.

if you dont hear from me in a few days, please send help, i may be stuck.

end of summer

it was warm today, after a week of cool overcast days, the 78degree weather was somewhat refreshing. the store has been slow and it has allowed me to work on a new window display. (pictures to follow, i promise...)

i have to say the warm weather makes for a beautiful sunset. i snapped this one before the sun dipped below the trees and out of sight.

i'm sad to see the summer go, as i love the cool nights outside with friends, the shades of sorbet in the sky at dusk and the way it smells when the heat mixes with warm rain. but i love that its getting darker earlier, i enjoy night. its quiet, and i like to watch the moths in the light on my porch.

my cats are starting to loose their summer coats and i'm finding strange hair balls rolling through my hallway like tumbleweeds. i have one long haired cat named roxy

who is such a sweet girl. she falls at your feet with a tiny squeak and stares at you with huge empty eyes. all my friends and i are convinced she might be slightly slow, but i find it wonderful. she greets me at the door in the evening and follows me around just to make sure i'm not going to far.

then there is gidget,

my kitty you who gone through many personality changes since i picked her up as a tiny kitten in boston. she's a serious cat who likes a good cuddle for no more then 30 seconds. but miss gidget is funny, she chases the carpet and loves to lay on her back and watch the fan in the livinging room. she is way to smart for her own good, and sometimes i feel as if she's plotting against me.

now i love my house, the things that fill it and the memories each one of those thing has. tonight i only realized how much i enjoyed my kitchen when i flipped the light off in my studio room and turned to see the lighting of the kitchen and how it captured the homie feeling i have tried so hard to achieve since moving in just under two years ago. granted i have dishes to do and i will forever hate the wallpaper i'm not allowed to take down per my landlord, oh the things i would do!...(i cant tell if they think that dusty rose hearts are still in style...but eh, whatever)

well anyway, this is the glow of my kitchen which i adore. if only the floor to my kitchen was padded and soft...i would sleep in there tonight.

the perfect night...homemade baked beans, brown bread with garlic butter and cider. delightful if you ask me...
